The Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) in collaboration with FortNynja will be hosting its inaugural Insurance Innovation Hackathon that will be hosted virtually starting from 31 March 2022 till 10 April 2022.

Details of the Insurance Innovation Hackathon are as follows:

  • 2 April – 10 April – Challenge 1: Build your solution
  • 8 April – 10 April – Challenge 2: Cybersecurity Capture-the-Flag

  • Solo or Team (6 pax max) – Minimum one Coder/ programmer
  • Registration allows individuals/ teams to join both challenges automatically

Eligibility:

  • Open to any individual or company/organization that wishes to register their staff/students or teams.
  • Individuals/teams will be automatically registered for both challenges.
  • Note: For participants looking to form teams, the four (4) workshops being organized are a good place to hunt for teammates

Challenge 1: Build your Solution (2 April – 10 April)

Solo or Team (6 pax max). Minimum 1 coder/ programmer

Solution MUST contain workable code, design and cybersecurity elements

Codes must not have been repurposed from a past project. Disqualification if old codes are detected and fresh codes are not found.

Solution needs to address one of the problem statements raised in BNM discussion paper (https://www.bnm.gov.my/documents/20124/943361/DP_on_Licensing_Framework_for_DITOs.pdf)
