Putrajaya Literacy in Financial Technology (LIFT) Festival 2019 was successfully hosted by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) Malaysia in collaboration with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the financial industry from 28 December to 29 December 2019. The Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Y.A.B. Dato’ Seri Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, who is also the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development officiated the LIFT Festival at Menara PERKESO @ Putrajaya.

With the objective of strengthening financial literacy among the public, this Festival showcased the Digital-Fintech Pavilion. This Pavilion featured various seminars, workshops, talks and exhibitions from financial institutions and FinTech companies. Taking part as one of the exhibitors, Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) and Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) jointly set up a booth that focused on numerous benefits of Phased Liberalisation of the Motor Insurance Tariff. New and innovative general insurance products which are available in the market were also highlighted for consumers’ awareness.

With the aim to emphasize the importance of safe driving habits, a Pinball Driving Control Game with messages on road safety was placed strategically at the booth to attract visitors. Visitors were then invited to take part in a short survey on the Phased Liberalisation of Motor Insurance Tariff. This survey will enable the associations to gauge the level of public awareness and understanding on this subject matter.

Other attractions at the LIFT Festival include The Fringe and The Market. The Fringe was where visitors were entertained by various street acts and live music performances by several local artists and celebrities. Those interested in fashion and beauty as well as food and beverages thronged to The Market to tantalise their fashion sense and tastebuds.
